Preparation for external examinations
From intermediate level onwards, the school also focuses on preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
Preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
The JLPT tests not only how much you know about Japanese characters, vocabulary and grammar, but also whether you can use this knowledge to carry out communicative tasks. In the preparation classes, students learn how to solve each subject efficiently and acquire the necessary skills while making use of the knowledge of characters, vocabulary and grammar accumulated from the beginner level.
Then, through plenty of practical exercises, students develop their skills and aim to pass the exam.
In addition, mock tests are regularly conducted to measure students’ ability at each stage and we formulate lesson plans to help students overcome their weak points.
Preparation for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)
The EJU is based on situations that international students are likely to encounter in their university life in Japan. Therefore, in addition to the Japanese used in everyday life, students are also required to understand somewhat specialised and academic language and phrases. The school analyses past questions and provides preparatory classes to familiarise students with the trends and format of the examinations. In the regular classes, we also use authentic materials and other materials to provide students with input so that they can develop an interest in social events and current topics, and train them to accumulate knowledge and express their own opinions on these topics.
If you wish, specialist teachers can also provide preparatory lessons in subjects other than Japanese, such as general subjects and science subjects.
